Free breakfast at the hostel is great! Nothing fancy, but it's good and filling. There's a sandwich stand at the beach, and a restaurant right next to it with decent daily specials (plat du jour is the way to go). Ate in Bayonne a couple times (plenty of places to grab baguettes and various "cheap eats"), and had a nicer dinner in Biarritz one evening.

Biarritz is extremely close and lively at night. Restaurants, bars, dancing, parties on the beach into the early morning hours, or even just a great walk around the area to admire this beautiful place by moonlight.
Don't miss... 13 Aug 2012 Abby, USA:
Biarritz, the river and gardens in Bayonne, and the beach (of course!). Surf, surf, surf—that's what most everyone is in Anglet for. If you don't know how, there are plenty of options for lessons and rentals. Some of the people I roomed with did day trips to Spain, since it's only about an hour bus ride away.
