There are few loacl bars, and it the Hostel is a beautiful 30 minute walk from the Zadar town center by the beach, Zadar as a whole is't really a party place (might be Croatia as a whole)

Don't miss the Sea Organ and the "Pozdrav Suncu" at night. My guides did not have much info about these two magnificient forms of art but i found them on the Zadar internet page and in Wikipedia as they are two outstanding and international traits of that city.
