You won't beat the hostel restaurant's three course evening meal (Eur 6.00) for wholesome food, well cooked and good value. The cafes in the museums and town centre we found pricey but we did stumble on one comfortable and clean place - Pizza Bisi at 4, Goldschmiedgasse (opposite the Stephansdom) where coffee, pasta and pizzas were reasonably priced. Beethoven's House in Heiligenstadt and Haydn's House in Mariahilf. Combine the former with a trip on the 38A bus to its terminus at Leopoldsburg or Kahlenburg for panoramic views over the city and beyond the Danube to the Little Carpathian Hills.
