There are a lot of localist food around the hostel ,for example some steam bread is cost only 1 yuan. Which is not bad ,is really worth to try, but the Menu are in Chinese.

The cotton club in the French Concession (Anting Rd). Be careful as there are 2 of them. Anting Road is the best one and much more ambient! Great Colonial building and garden, you'll simply love it!.

No idea. Hong Kong is by far the best place to visit in China..less pollution, more green space, no spitting!, you don't get charged more for being a white person and it's 0altogether cheaper! I love their red bean steamed buns which you can't seem to find on the mainland. (They must be more of a Cantonese delicacy!)

The ancient city is well worth a visit. Tours leave the stadium at 9am and 10 am so get there early. We ended up sharing a van driven by a guy called Tim. The cost for each of the 6 of us was only $100 yuan, way cheaper than the tours! Also a ride on the Maglev train is worthwhile.
