The dumpling restaurant on the street corner half a block west and one block north. The food is fantastic (not just dumplings, lots of other dishes as well), prices OK for Shanghai, and the design is also nicer than an average Chinese eatery. |

Meals available at hostel are OK. But eating from vendors down the street (turn left when stepping out of YHA) is excellent value and very tasty. Cafe 85 (in the same direction) and at the intersection is OK for cheap coffee and the bakery items are very good and it's open till 8pm in the evening. |

Make sure you walk around the Fench Concession area (north west) of hostel. Be sure to visit Pearl Tower, it's an easy trip on the metro. Peoples Square is also with a visit. Night time one hour cruise is also worth it. |
