01 Feb 2012 Neale, Canadá:
Les Arenes. Extremely well preserved Roman arena where you can really imagine gladiators fought. |

Nothing. There is a little bar in the hostel, but it's deep in the mountain..., |

21 Oct 2011 Michael, Estados Unidos:
While walking back to the Hostel, and reaching the outskirts of town, discovered a deli on the right, and bought inexpensive pre-made food items to microwave back at the Hostel. I walked back, and as I reached the outskirts of town, stopped at a deli and bought pre-made food items to microwave back at the Hostel. There right before you make the left turn up the very steep hill towards the hostel, there is also a grocery store on the left, but set back where you might miss it. Didn't see that until my departure trip from the Hostel. Also, in downtown Nimes, I discovered a mall. The first floor is like a giant indoor farmers market. There was a lot of inexpensive food items, but I already ate. |

Make sure to buy the museum pass from from the hostel. Includes printed basic route map and attractions. From the hoste., follow the map to the tower, then there is a winding path through the park gardens headed to the next destination. Don't follow the road, or you might bipass the gardens. Go to the other attactions on the map. Also, discovered the museaum pass was also good for other museaums (not on the list) such as Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nîmes (where there were paintings from Rembrant, Monet,(and many more famouse artists), artifacts from the Egyptian tombs and much much more. Then take the bus back if it is too late. |

The hostel bar is very nice. Met nice people there, got invited to go with a group to a local Irish pub. A local citizen vistiting the Hostel drove us to the pub from the hostel. Fortunately, the bartender at the Irish pub lives at the hostel, and gave us a ride back at closing. |

20 Sep 2011 DAVID, Inglaterra e Gales:
I ate (and drank) at the hostel. There is a supermarket nearby at the bottom of the hill if you want to self cater but the kitchen is very small. No restaurants reasonably close. |

Quite easy to get bus to Pont du Gard. |

20 Sep 2011 Cam, Canadá:
Visiting Pont du Gard, never take the last bus back to Nimes. You take a chance if the bus will show up, unfortunitely, ours never did. We walk 3 km on the highway to the nearest town and payed someone to drive us back to Nimes; very costly compare to 1.50 euros. |
