There are shops where you can get a round bread and a |french processed white cheese for 2.50 Dh. The coffee shop across the street has coffee and mint tea for 6 D.

Hi Hostel in Fes. It was amazing. The staff were all super nice and friendly, and found us very affordable things to do. Beware! They close the door daily after 10pm, and between 3 and 6 pm! Just like Marrakech, cab drivers have no idea where the hostel is. Find it on a map, and good luck!

Rick's cafe is a 15 minute walk toward the Hassan !! Mosque. A meal for the 3 of us was about 700 Dh, but in the city centert there is a place right across from MacD that does a full-on meal with steak/fish and red wine for just under 600Dh. Tip extra.

You can eat anywhere for a good price. What I miss most is the freshly squeezed orange juice, purchased in Djemaa el Fna square. It only costs 4 dirham for a large cup, two cups will satisfy your stomach for several hours.

The hostel is close to Gueliz and Hivernage (the new city) where you will find many supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants and the best night clubs available. If you spend most of your time in the Medina (old city) Djemaa el Fna, you will only be able to have a drink at the Hotel Tazi, expect to pay 25-30 dirham per beer (small 250ml bottle).

Taxis are relatively inexpensive as long as you know how to haggle the price. From Djemaa el Fna to the airport, pay only 50 dirham in a small taxi, or up to 80 dirham for a large taxi. From the hostel to the main square, pay only 30-40 dirham. Taxi cab drivers never turn on the fare machine, actually, I don't even remember seeing one in the taxis, for this reason you can name your price or else threaten to call the police, they are afraid of the police because they could lose there Taxi License. But this should always be a last resort.
