Look out for hiring a car, self-driven for moving around the island. Taxis will cost a lot. Your own car will give a lot of convenience and is reasonably priced(70-80 Ringgits per day + cost of gas). 40 Ringgits will buy you sufficient gas to drive around the island twice. |

The Langkawi Cable Car...wonderful. Charter a 150HP boat to visit the three islands at 200 Rinngets...the boatman will let you drive the boat on request! |

Langkawi Cable Car - you can go up the mountain. Close to the cable car there is a place you could ride an elephant. The Cenan beach is really nice, tiny white sand, many opportunities for water sports. So many good restaurants close to the beach. You can drink a fresh coconut on the beach, 3,5RM for one. Island hopping - 25RM for half a day, you go to 3 islands. There is a kind of "fish massage" in the "Pregnant Maiden Island" - there is a lake where you could put your feet and many fish will come. Besides, you could hire a boat to go around the lake - I recommend the one with electrical engine - 30RM for 30 min. During the island hopping you will also visit an island where you could see how eagles are looking for food (you can make good pictures during watching the eagle feeding). You can visit the town - close to the sea, there is a big eagle, which is the symbol of Langkawi. Close to it there is a nice garden and a big mosque. Close to the bay, there are some benches where you can sit down to watch the sunset. Except for Cenan beach, there is another nice white sand beach called Tanjung Rhu - it also quite OK, but almost no opportunities for water sports there. The sand there is not so tiny as in Cenan beach, the beach is not very shallow, it becomes deep very quickly. If you go there you have to be careful. There are many jellyfish close to the beach, so take care. Tip: Close to the beach (Cenan) there are hotels/guestrooms for lower price than this hotel, but with much much better conditions than Eagle Bay Hotel. |

Orkid - a bit expensive Chinese Seafood restaurant. For two people to eat well you need around 200RM, but I think it is good value for money - it was tasty and cosy inside. I think this was the only restaurant I saw in Langkawi that was always full of guests. |
