There is a nice place to get stuffed buns around the corner from the hotel -- across from the Ancient Town Youth Hostel. Makes a good breakfast for 10 RMB or so. Also, the place across from the hostel is good for local dishes, but get two or three people together so you can try several things or else it will be a bit pricey.
