The Indian-Pakistani place kitty corner by the hostel wasn't bad for the price (considering it's DC). Also Snap Crepes in Georgetown, although it's on a side street. |

turn left out of the hostel door and walk a block and a half and you see a tiny El Salvatorian restaurant - Excellent food and good price. DC is expensive everywhere but they are well priced |

Five Guys, for awesome burgers - an easy walk from the hostel. Mititsam, at the National Museum of the American Indian, has all sorts of amazing things. Try an Indian Taco. Look out for food trucks - I had a brilliant lunch from PhoWheels when it stopped in Chinatown one day. |

Capitol City Brewing was great for a solo traveller - lots of room at the bar, friendly staff, decent food, sports and news on TV. $5+ for a beer though. |

The International Spy Museum was good fun. The Newseum was better than expected (the Pulitzer photography exhibition particularly moving). The National Zoo was worth a bus trip. The National Portrait Gallery and American Art Museum (in adjoining buildings) were a real surprise pleasure, with an amazing covered courtyard worth seeing. |
