Huff it out to Mt. Tabor City Park and you'll be rewarded with a gorgeous view of the city and all of Hawthorne St. The Grotto in NE Portland is awesome too! It's the only kind of sketchy area in the city, once you break into the 100 streets on the NE side and head towards Gresham, so be on guard and no one should bother you

Take the Max out to the peripheral cities (Beaverton/Hillsboro/Clackclamas/N Portland) and hit up downtown! Again, a very safe city for walking so just pick a spot and explore!
