Eat at the hostel...lots of simple meals can be created with the garden salad ingredients and a bagel or roll. Or splurge and eat outside at sundown at A Thai Place. Make sure you order ginger honey tea. It is wonderful. I drank 2 pots of it. Very spicy and cozy on a chilly evening.

Hawthorne Goodwill is an amazing don't miss store. Like no other. The staff put outfits together impressively. Also, I was able to find some nice Columbia outdoor gear there for a hike that I needed.

Mt Tabor is good for a day hike/picnic. It's half forested which is good for those who can't take the heat like myself, and the walk back is right by the better eateries. On that note, the Whole Bowl is really quite good, especially for the money.
