Yosemite Bug Café for any meal. Sack lunch is a bargain and delicious ($7-8 for sandwich, fruit, trail mix and cookie). A sandwich alone will cost $7-8 in Yosemite and quality is lower! |

Sentinel Dome. The cables had come off Half dome the day we went for our permit, so we settled on this. It was amazing. You have 360 degree views of the park with a much smaller crowd than other places. Also, drive out to the eastern edge of the park on Tioga road, the views are otherworldly, and completely worth the almost 2 hr drive. There are plenty of places along the way to get out and stretch your legs with great views. |

the grocery store in Yosemite is a good way to cobble together a decent meal. Hummus, a half a roasted chicken and some raw carrots did the job quite nicely after a long day out. Maybe even prepare to have a camp stove with you and cook in the parking lot. It is quite a distance from the park to the hostel and was too much of a time/gas waste to return just to fix a meal. Also be wary of the prepared food in the park, it is overpriced and often terrible. If you plan plan on leaving early and returning early eat at the cafe. It is EXCELLENT. The ice cream/sorbet is some of the best I have EVER eaten. :) |

Pigeon Point Lighthouse is another HI Hostel and one of my favorite places ever. It's on the coast and has a hot tub you can rent for 7$ (for a 1/2 hour, which is all you really need) with the most amazing sunset over the pacific. The guy who runs it is awesome, and it's within driving distance to a lot of other cool towns. There's a million beaches you can hang out at and it's pretty close to Big Basin State Park. Don't forget if you stay here...GET UP FOR SUNRISE. TRULY. AWESOME! |

Columbia State Park, it's about an hour away from Mariposa, but it's fun to visit an old Gold Rush ghost town. |

| HI Hostel HI – Midpines, Yosemite Rustic Mountain ResortEl albergue de Yosemite Bug se encuentra en una zona boscosa a 30 km del espectacular Parque Nacional de Yosemite, y a 40 km del valle de Yosemite. En la zona se puede disfrutar practicando ciclismo de montaña, esquí, rafting y senderismo. El albergue se encuentra a 4 km de la ruta pintoresca del río Merced.
