There a are few decent places around Potsdamer Platz but if you walk the other way down Potsdamer Strasse you will find some really cheap shops, bakeries and restaurants not to mention all the usual fast food places. In addition if you are really on a budget the hostel itself does a great evening meal for 6 euros. I did this on one night and there was plenty to eat and it was very good food.

This hostel is ideally located for the Berlin Philharmonie which is a 5 minute walk away if that. I went the first night I was in Berlin and I was back at the hostel in no time.
