Jeffs Katejøkk by the bridge. Clean, quick and even if expensive, is one of the cheapest options for eating in the city without falling on Mcdonalds, which in Norway is quite unserviceable, unreasonably expensive and not sympathetic at all if you speak english. Furthermore, they charge for eating on place, which means that nobody cares to pick their stuff after eating or to aim at the toilettes. If you speak norse or swedish, try at Hummer og kanari or Egon. Both are expensive, but at the first one, you will have an acceptable dish of stuffed cod. Nordic non existant service, though. They easily forget what do they get payed for... |

Deffinitively, straight back home. Banks give no service, tourist office is not much better and if you come from mediterranean area, you'll feel totally alone. |

The Fjellstua lookout just up from the hostel provides sensational views of the city and surrounds. The Art Nouveau Museum is worth a look. |
