The Hostel is in a very beautiful place, inside a wood, ansd not far from the fjord wher we have a pleasant walk ans we can see midnight sun |

Do not miss the rock carvings at the museum, there is also a walk to a Observatry which has a good view over the Fjord, the key of this observatory you can borrow in the Museum. It is definately worth to do so. |

| HI Hostel Alta Alta Vandrerhjem has a peaceful location just outside Alta. The hostel is surrounded by pine forest and several lakes where you can go hiking, swimming and pick berries. It is possible to go fishing both in nearby rivers and in the ocean. It is approximately 10 km to the city centre of Alta, which is the largest city in Finnmark. You will here find both shopping centres, cultural sights like the world famous UNESCO listed rock carvings, restaurants and night life. Easy to take day trips from Alta to North Cape, Hammerfest and Kautokeino. In addition to peace and quiet it is also possible to attend several activities at the hostel such as canoe trips and fishing.
