I enjoyed the Academy of sciences nightlife on Thursday night. Also, just going down to the wharf area was cool. |

Walk down the hill at the back of the hostel and you have an amazing view of Alcatraz and Golden gate. Pier 39 is a must. Walk along the waterfront on the way, great atmosphere and everyone out enjoying the weather. |

Get the clam chowder in the sourdough bread bowl, they sell it everywhere around pier 39. Pretty cheap but very yummy! |

Alcatraz! It was cool looking at all the old rooms. You can do a self-guide tour but I recommend the audio tour! |

Do a walk along the bay toward the Golden Gate Bridge. It's amazingly beautiful. You won't regret it. |

Friday night, head out of hostel to Lower Fort Mason and find 'off the tracks' this is a big outdoor street food festival. It's great |
