Ålesund is small but very beautiful city in wonderful location. In summer daily Hurtigruten ship takes you to Geirangerfjord and back the same evening. Excellent hydrofoil ships to various islands. |

Runde was a nice day trip and the boat trip to see the birds (wiht English speaking captain/guide Johann) was great, although doing it on public transportation would have been difficult (and you'd have little time on Runde unless you stayed overnight) so we had to hire a car, which was expensive, of course. |
