Bangkok Wins Best City Award 2012 from Travel + Leisure Magazine

Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, regained the top spot in Travel + Leisure’s 2012 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey, closely followed by Florence, Istanbul, Cape Town and Sydney. Bangkok has fought off some top competition to win this top spot three years in a roll!

In the Best City category, readers were asked to rate sights, culture/arts, restaurants/food, people, shopping, and value. Bangkok people are so proud to receive this honour once again even though the city was damaged by great floods only last year. In addition, the fact that Bangkok has been voted in the top spot this year, as it was in 2010 and 2011, is testament not only to the myriad attractions on offer and the variety of top-drawer accommodation and top award winning hostels, but also to the Thai people and culture, both of which bring so much joy to travellers.
