Ankaran – A must for those looking for some rest and relaxation, this area of Slovenia became a popular destination as a health resort in the 19th century when the temperate climate proved to be beneficial in treating bone and lung diseases. The area is rich in history with the Benedictine monastery of St Nicholas in the centre of the region. This was converted into a private summer residence after the monks were decimated by the plague in the 17th century. The Ankaran region is a great destination for hikers with plenty of circular walks in the area. There are also plenty of watersports.
Bohinsjko Jezero – Perfect for all types of outdoor activities such as rafting, canoeing and climbing. Our group accommodation in Bohinsjko Jezero is also a great base for exploring nearby places of interest such as Lake Bled and the medieval town of Skofja Loka. Visitors can take the cable car to Mt. Vogel for spectacular views.
Dutovlje – On the Italian side of Slovenia, Dutovlje is as yet a relatively undiscovered town. With a history dating back to 1278, the city was originally built behind walls. It is in the middle of the wine growing region of the area and travellers can also visit nearby Lipica which is the birthplace of the world-famous Lipizzaner white horses.
Ljubljana – The capital of Slovenia, has all the facilities of a modern capital, and yet it has preserved its small-town friendliness and relaxed atmosphere. It is a vibrant city full of natural beauty and cultural sights bearing witness to the city's dynamic history. Postojna – Home to the largest natural cave which has 20kms of passages, galleries and chambers.
