Aix-les-Bains – HI’s group hostel in Aix-les-Bains is perfectly placed to explore this famous spa town, home to a host of outdoor activities including cross country skiing, hiking, cycling as well as a full range of water sports on Lake Bourget.

Saintes – This is a Gallo-Roman town in the Charente-Maritime area. HI’s Saintes hostel is one of our hidden gem hostels in France, perfect for soaking in both spas and history, as the town has thermal baths, a magnificent Roman amphitheatre and a 12th century Abbey.
La Rochelle – The capital of the Vendee region on the east coast, La Rochelle is a lovely coastal town with a quaint harbour and pretty old town area.
