There is a Korean resteraunt as well as a small "hole in the wall" on an adjacent side street. My Honey and I didn't spend more than 25 eating there.

walk around the northern part of ninghai lu and the adjacent side streets, like suzhou lu and many others . it's a beautiful residential neighborhood shaded with big trees and full of old republican era houses. It's a real taste of the old nanjing that 1912 kind of glosses over with it's many pubs and restaurants.

Do not miss the Nanjing Massacre Memorial, which clearly was designed by a genius. The statuary at the entrance is overwhelming and the exhibits, particularly the 12 second drop of water section, are even more so. Make this the last stop on your stay in Nanjing because the experience will leave you numb.

If you really want a change from China below the Yangtze, go to Xian and then proceed north to Yulin. There you can see the largest extant tower of the great wall, the ruins of an early dynasty, view cave art, take a quick trip to the Genghis Khan museum (taxi) in Inner Mongolia, see the temples that are being rebuilt as a result of the current religious revival, and see the cave dwellings that house about 2 million Chinese in this dry, desert terrain. See www.chinalocalculture.net for some views.
