for good Polish food: the open-air grill in Plac Nowy (Kazimierz) is great and cheap...and popular! Also small restaurant on left side of ul. Mostowa run by Teresa...delicious, cheap Polish food in a cozy, antique atmosphere with a delightful proprietor! Also don't miss the experience of eating one meal at Bar Mleczny near hostel on corner ul.Dietla and Starowislna (recommended to us by a Polish friend, these places were where Poles shopped with ration cards during Cold War years)--truly unique and simple, delicious food...AND NO TOURISTS!

Auschwitz and Birkenau...walk and walk through Kazimierz at all hours, the Remuh cemetery, Sunday morning flea market in Plac Nowy, a walk along the river. And of course all the main attractions! A lovely city to visit again and again!

Walk and look and listen! There's something going on EVERYWHERE! No need to head just to bars or clubs....BUT! the best expresso coffee is in a little place in ul. Josefa with Caffè Vergnano!
