The lake is gorgeous so check it out. Lots of boats available for renting. Can also take a scenic route train into the swiss alps. Take a train from central Zurich to luzurn and then from luzurn to interlaken. In interlaken u can take a train tour all the way to the top of the mountain and still get back to Zurich by nightfall. take the fast route home via Bern.

Bernard and interlaken are other places in Switzerland you should check out. There are hostels in these places as well and a couple located in central Zurich.

The YHA Dachau has great meals at very reasonable prices. The on site Bistro is a great place for a drink and something to nibble.

Dachau World War II Concentration Camp just a 10 minute walk away or catch Public Transport (bus) to the site. Well worth a visit and you can tour the site on your own for nothing.
