The lost gardens of Heligan, avilable by bus or by foot (1h at least) are amazing! You find trropical plants, a jungle, conventionnal english gardens as well and a wildlife center really thrilling...If you love nature, animals and plants, don't hesitate: go!!! even if it's raining (heavy rain the day we visited), it's gorgeous! You think you are in an amazonian forest!

not st-austell which doesn't worth it but the Fowley river a bit further is really nice and there is an hostel there: Golant, with a fantastic view on the river...
