When we could tear ourselves away from the hostel, the kids loved trotti-biking on Mt Nielsen. The Aare Gorge was great and the walking, views and Alpine Garden on Schnige Platte are fantastic.

These don't really exist. Probably best value in hostel. Good quality 3 course meals, seemed expensive compared to British hostel prices but were a lot cheaper than eating out in Switzerland.
