Jungfraujoch (expensive but unique experience), take trains to various locations and hike the wanderwegs (Murren, Grindlewald, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen Valley). Great hiking. Downtown Interlaken is very touristy but hostel is in lovely quiet residential area away from town.

Check out Coop store just opposite to the Interlaken railway station - just 10-15 mins walk from the hostel. It will be cheaper than other food places...

If you can muster up the courage, try para gliding, hang gliding, sky diving, canyon jumping in Interlaken. Call the number that is posted on the hostel information board and they will pick you up from there.

Take the Golden Express train from Interlaken to Luzern and sit on the left side. I bet you will get breathtaking views of Swiss countrysides. Get down from the train at Lungern (small station) and spend sometime there enjoying the natural scenery by the lake. If you have more time, get down at the other small stations like Giswil...

The HarderKoln mountain/hill, in which you get an outstanding view of Interlaken and both lakes. There is a cable-car so you can walk up, and get a lift down, or vice versa, or just get the cable car both ways.

The train ride from Interlaken to Luzern had the most fantastic views of Switzerland I've seen yet.

The Coop stores exactly opposite the Interlaken Ost Railway station is a great shop where you can get many food items which you can use for cooikng on your own.
