The City History Museum is wonderful; so is the Gaudi walking tour (organized by the hostel). Barcelona's parks are lovely (Ciutadella, Guell, Montjuic) -- don't take the cable car at Montjuic, it's a waste of money. The Miro museum at Montjuic is also quite good, as is the Museum of Pre-colombian Art. The Erotica Museum is overpriced; the Picasso Museum has very little of Picasso's later and more famous work. The Sagrada Familia is expensive but totally worth it!

Andorra is close to Barcelona (direct bus, several times daily) and a beautiful place to go hiking and get out of the city for a few days. Zaragoza is also easily accessible by bus and is good for a 1-2 day visit.

if you come out of the hostel and take a left towards las ramblas theres a place that does veggie curry with rice for 2 euro, tastes nice and did not get ill!
