for good Polish food: the open-air grill in Plac Nowy (Kazimierz) is great and cheap...and popular! Also small restaurant on left side of ul. Mostowa run by Teresa...delicious, cheap Polish food in a cozy, antique atmosphere with a delightful proprietor! Also don't miss the experience of eating one meal at Bar Mleczny near hostel on corner ul.Dietla and Starowislna (recommended to us by a Polish friend, these places were where Poles shopped with ration cards during Cold War years)--truly unique and simple, delicious food...AND NO TOURISTS! |

Auschwitz and Birkenau...walk and walk through Kazimierz at all hours, the Remuh cemetery, Sunday morning flea market in Plac Nowy, a walk along the river. And of course all the main attractions! A lovely city to visit again and again! |
