China Town (i had dinner at Happy Valley, haven't checked out the others), not too far from the Hostel. You can ask the front desk for a map. Other than that, for breakfast, there's Tim Horton just up the street, between ..... 1st and 2nd SE I think? (Just go straight up from the hostel on 7th Ave, it is after Central corner.

Big Rock Brewery! Great lunch for a nice price at their Grill and enjoy all of their fresh beer on tap. Take the Somerset train from the city centre to Chinook Station then walk outside and take the 23 bus until you hit 52 Street SE, jump off at the first stop and you're there.

check out West Edmonton Mall (in Edmonton), the Royal Tyrrell Museum (Drumheller) and for a taste of the old west check out the steam train that goes through Big Valley and Stettler
