25 Jul 2008 Adam, Romania (Traveller): Mechelen is very nicely located between Brussels-Antwerpen and Leuven-Ghent/Brugge. If you want to avoid very noisy places you can set up your base in Mechelen and visit the surroundings. If you want to go the the Netherlands next, there're trains every hour to Rotterdam-Amsterdam
