rue de la régence deux sandwicheries côte à côte : la cigalière où l'on compose soi-même son sandwich, et l'autre (on ne se souvient plus du nom) qui a une belle carte de sandwiches et cuisine le plat du jour sous vos yeux le midi dans une ambiance familiale

The brassiere across the street served us a wonderful breakfast of ham, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, bread, orange juice and coffee. We said 4 simple words to the proprietor: breakfast, eggs, pain, cafe, and voila! We also had a wondrful meal of moules and frites. We had moules and frites in Bruges, and Brussels also, these were the best! Front desk gave us the name of the restaurant.

Visit Maastricht. It's only 25 minutes away by train and is lovely.

Don't miss "Bocata's" kebaps and hamburgers, near the hostel. Good and very cheap.

Plenty of falafel shops close the the hostel and some pricier restaurants in the charming alley nearby as well.
