20 Apr 2013 Annika, Deutschland (Gast): Having once a dinner meal was a good decision. We were lucky to try Labskaus, a norwegian kind of hotpot, which was not only delicious but filling. It came with a great mushroom soup and also a nice cake. So after this meal we were really full and happy to have such a great dinner. Also the price was reasonable. |

20 Apr 2013 Annika, Deutschland (Gast): Opposite the Hamar Hostel is the "Wiking ship" a huge hall which was used and built for the Olympic games in 1994. We didn't try to get in, but maybe there is a chance to get inside. Just looking at the outside is quite impressive, but not beautiful. A nicer view you have when having a tour around the biggest norwegian lake Mjorsa which is very close to the station of Hamar. At least from there you can start walking around it. It's lovely and also going to the other side - to Gjovik - is worth a tour. Another spot is the old abbey under glass. Don't remember exactly where it is. But this place is also very nice and worth visting, particular when the sun set. Then the light is beautiful around there. By the way: Once we got the taxi to get to places - which was far to expensive. So I'd suggested going by bike or wandering around is the best way of exploring the nearest neighbourhood providing that weather conditions are good. |
