Considering the peso is so low we were able to eat at quite a fancy restaurant with wine and salads before for around $25.

Itaipu Binacional dam is located between Paraguay and Brazil a short bus ride. However, it allows you to see the process in which the water goes through and the massive power it creates. Tours are free!

It's a pain in the neck to get to, but Asuncion is an interesting destination (albeit after a day of transit and harrowing border crossings and bus changes!)
