Staff very courteous, helpful and friendly, lovely clean kitchen. I especially liked the bullitin boards with recommendations for local restaurants, things to do, music in town and other events. Good hostel, nice old building had character. Nice neighborhood and good walking distance to downtown. My only complaint was the beds. They squeak sooooo bad. All through the night I would wake up whenever someone turned over or shifted. Other than that it was a great place.

I had never stayed in a hostel before I stayed at Portland Northwest. I was amazed and surprised and would recommend this hostel to anyone and everyone. What a great way to travel! The staff were phenomenally accommodating, informed and kind. The people I met and stories they shared made my stay an unforgettable experience.

I hated the sleep sacks! made sleeping difficult I found. Apart from that, hostel very clean and nice.
