very good hostel in a beautiful house - rather far away from the city center : 45 minutes by bus and 1,6 km walk

Friendly welcome and local information about bus service very useful. T,he accommodation was basic,, as expected, but the beds were too short for 3 of our party (being over 6'3''). The building itself was lovely, it being an old house, and the setting was wonderfully rural in a large town.

It's about a mile walk from the nearest bus stop (bus #38). There is a living room type area with couches and books to read. Also a kitchen in the basement.

I didn't like that a "family" room was created on the men's dorm floor when the shower room is always open.

as in the past, the floor at the Chamonix Mansion in Phil squeeked with EVERY STEP in the female bunk room. the uneven florr wasn't as much of a problem but very distressing if you have more than one visitor in there. the bathroom was nicely renovated, very clean and well lit. the gentleman at the desk was very friendly and helpful. thank you very much
