|It was my third stay in this hostel, it's a really good place to stay.|
|We loved it! VERY friendly, young staff, nice&cozy room. There are washing-mashines and a kitchen. Reykjavik is only 20 minutes by foot, and the walk is really worth it as you can enjoy the sea& the view on the mountains.Very gay-friendly, as nearly everything in Iceland.|
|Doors opened and closed by others during the night was very loud. And you could not open a window without having strong noises of the wind through the door- no joke!
The kitchen equipment is (like in every Iceland hostel) poor - nearly no pot or pan has a fitting lid.
But all in all it was good to stay there.|
|You need an oven in the shared kitchen.|
|The good: Great clean place. Good breakfast. Would recommend. Convenient if you love the pool. Great local restaurant across the street.
The bad: Charging so much for sheets and towels is ridiculous. We had to pay twice for linens since we split our stay into two parts.|
|Staff very helpful, friendly atmosphere, breakfast fine, all together great!|
|Perfect accomodation in Iceland|
-Staffs were generally friendly and efficient when we wanted to book/cancel tours and transportations.
-I had a person who snored so loudly I couldn't sleep and they were very accommodating and changed my room right away.
-I've been to couple other hostels, but these were FAR cheaper and cleaner.
-I signed up for the HI membership on the spot, because I was staying for more than 3 nights
-It is about 15min bus ride to downtown, 20-30min if you walk. This was really not a problem for us, but it may be for some.
-Because of the location, we tend to get picked up first and dropped off last for our tours. Well honestly, who cares.
-You may find breakfast a little pricy (1250 ISK?) for what they have. But then again, everything is rather expensive in Iceland.
I will be sure to hit other HI hostels when I travel, if you're looking to save up on accommodation and use that money for actual experience, this is the place to check!|
|There is some a small staffproblem with a girl name Yaellah, and young man from Britainia, ( British ) They must learn some fairness and kindleyness to the people there leaving on City Hostel. The rest of the staff is very good, kindly and if I ask them about someone, they answer me every time. Good time for me in City Hostel, I regreat nothing, I can came again to City Hostel and leaving there!:-)
