Really noisy location between the motorway and the railway. Expensive YH even if the (not really good) breakfast is included.

We were disappointed with this hostel on our 2nd and 3rd nights. I had prepaid for one night for my mom and I and then we decided to stay on for an additional two nights. As we paid at that time, we were informed that the cost of the room almost DOUBLED because the hostel was full, through NO FAULT of our own. We felt it was unfair to punish travellers because other people choose to stay there. The manager on the first night was incredibly helpful and friendly and the other staff were nice as well. The breakfast was quite good. On another note, we had to change rooms due to a large rambunctious high school team that was coming in. This team was sooooo rowdy and soooooo noisy and because there is no reception after 2300 and we figured noise was not an "emergency," there was nothing we could do about it except complain to the manager in the morning, after an awful's night sleep. We will not be back to this hostel.

A lovely hostel right near the magnificant Roath park. Look up the bus schedules before you go - otherwise you will get confused about how to get to other parts of town! Buses only run to that neighborhood until shortly after 11 so if you want to get back later be prepared to take a cab. Security wonderful, Breakfast very filling, enjoyed myself immensely. Lovely city.

Very nice hostel. Staff=excellent! Thanks for all. Just wondering if you can lower the price of internet (4 pounds is definitely a lot, considering it's difficult to get internet anywhere else). Maybe the room (16 beds) is a little bit too many people, but I had a great stay there. The park is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you!!!

Great staff and manager, Craig. He gave us a lot of information about the area and about other areas we were planning to see in Wales. But there should be some directions in the confirmation of the reservations to assist those driving into the city!! A local resident took us there since it was on her way to an appointment (we followed her car). Very friendly residents near the hostel.
