This is by far the friendliest and most hospiable of the 5 HI hostels I stayed at since Jan13, and the others were very good. The staff and manager are what makes the difference, Lizzie is a wonderful manager who has created a warm atmosphere of hospitality. Alex mages to be very professional while still being very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable aboyt everything that is going on in Merida. Raphael has a gift for making even routine things fun, and arranges movies and other activities.

This is an old hostel. Only one bathroom for many people. Sometimes there was no water at all. Sanitary was really bad. In addition, it was very noisy at night. That was the worst.
