We spent a week at the Apricot Hostel and were very impressed. Location was fantasitc, very central and within walking distance of many of the places we wanted to visit and anywhere further away was either a bus or tube journey away (again very close). Staff were helpful and helped us out with any queries. Rooms, although small were perfect for what we needed. Cleaners worked round the clock, we just had a room next to a broken toilet which didn't smell great at times! As for security, it was great, the location is off the main thoroughfare and on the top floor of apartments.

A good Hostel with very friendly and helpful staff. The bed (in single Room )was however rather small at barely six feet.

Everything quite good, toilets are very clean but quite small, it will be better if they provide bed lamp, stove for cooking.......It's worth for my money !

A really good, clean and not expensive hostel close to Nevsky and close to the Metro! I would come back if I am in town again.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. (+++) located 1 min walking from a metro station; (+) while the room was very modest, it was clean; (+) it was secure and the fact that we were allowed to put valuables in the hostel's safe for free was very good. (- -) the noise from other guests arriving late at night - was too much some times; (-) no curtains in the windows (!!!) means too much light too early! The entrance is located in an alley with no visible sign pointing to the hostel (trust the address, it is correct) and many signs advertising sexshops; once you enter the alley, the door is on the left and you should dial 7b and ask for the door to be opened. Once inside you will see a stairway, with a eerie lift, that will make you think you made a wrong decision coming to this place, specially if you arrive at night, as we did - not to worry! When you get to the top floor you will change your mind, since as you cross the door you will feel you are in a completely different building.

Location is superb: Apricot is within walking distance of all major sights, and very close to 2 main metro stations. My bed was only 1.80m long (I'm 1.88m...). Fortunately my room came with a little stool: putting that next to the bed allowed me to sleep "diagonally". Mattress was very thin, which made the bed even more uncomfortable.
