If I could travel to places like Vista Serena more often my life would be better off. The view was ground shaking, the people friendly and warm, the price was unbeatable, and I am forever grateful.

The air conditioners in the rooms need service as they no longer blow cold air so getting any kind of restful sleep was a problem. Water pressure was sporadic at times but I guess that's CR where no one seems to know how to build, fix or maintain anything. But I do love Vista Serena, it always has a good vibe and friendly staff though the one female employee (Not Sonia) needed alittle prodding when I was trying to check in.....she just gave me a blank look in disbelief that I had reservations (I'm guessing) until I started spelling my name impatiently, then she snapped to it.

Nice place with a great view. We stayed in a private room which seemed like the way to go, dorms seemed pretty crazy and would have scored lower I think. Nice people. The Christmas dinner and fireworks was one of the best nights of our entire trip.

I reserved the hostel via HI website, however, upon arrival, the hostel had not processed my reservation into its reservation book. We were lucky that there were beds still available.
