Wonderful stay. Appreciate kitchen and common room. Clean bathroom area. Helpful, friendly staff. Highly appreciated, as the event I was attending was nearby and the hostel location was helpful....the event ended about 10 and it took only a few minutes to get to the hostel. (232100)

Would like to see a separate washer and dryer for visitors. Had to wait on the washing of the hostels linens to get to wash my clothes. Kithen refrigerator was in dissarray and rest of kitchen not much better. Good locks but almost anyone could get to the kitchen and dining area even if they were not staying at the hostel. (226295)

excellent place to stay. made a change from the other hostels as location and style of house was amazing. Didnt like the curfew of being off the property during the day. and the hostel needs to make it clearer that there are lockers avialable in the day if you arrive early as i wasted a whole afternoon in the bus terminla waiting for the 5 o clock check in time to only find lockers available once i got to the hostel... wasted my day. overall lovely place - need to invest in a few DVDS tho :) (219545)

i really liked the hostel ...i didnt like the lock out hours, but im sure you hear that alot....one thing that i wish would have been available was some sort of group activities....for example i really wanted to play volleyball on the beach but i was traveling alone....while i did meet nice people and hang out with a few, i was wishing that there was some kind of thing where u could sign up to go play beach volleyball or to go ride the boardwalk rides....even though the hostel isnt open during daytime hours, i think it would still be possible to arrange something like that the night before and then people could meet at the determined location...just a thought... Should have been a better breakfast.... an own parking lot would have been good too Hostel response: breakfast?? sounds great! Our hostel provides free coffee/tea and an assortment donated foods that arrive every Friday and varies according to the donation- you never know what you get, so you"re right! maybe that week it should have better! but oh well, its free and the hostel keeps its rates low! It's really annoying that you cannot get into your room during the day. It just doesn't make your plans flexible because you have to take everything with you. Hostel response: true, we feel your pain. we"re hoping at the end of our renovation we can renegotiate with the City of Santa Cruz and get daytime access for all guests. in the meantime, leave what you don"t need OR take what you need and lock it up in the outdoor lockers which are accessible during the day (as are all of the grounds, sitting areas, gardens, deck, etc) (204516)

excellent stay. only complaint is the hostel closing down during the day. i understand reasons for the night time curfew, but not for the day time one. beach is 3 min walk away and town is 10 mins walk. will definitly stay again :) Hostel response: thanks, and we wish we were open too, trust me.
