The Hostel Staff were a tad more focussed on closing the hostel for the season than observing their posted rules. A raucous party-with alcohol, tobacco, loud music and screaming- kept the compound awake into the wee hours on the night of Sept. 11th. The location is wonderful. The complimentary morning pancakes were a wonderful treat. Thanks.

The San Pedro area does not seem to expect tourists like nearby Long Beach does. I found it difficult to get tourist information. Buses will bring you to Long Beach with one transfer.

I enjoyed staying here. The staff were friendly and helpful. They rooms and kitchen were clean. You can see a nice view of the ocean from the park nearby. The location is somewhat away from any sightseeing areas, so it is best if you have a car. :)

Well, it's away from the big places of L.A., I liked it because I knew that and I was just wiling to stay there to, you know, get more connected to nature and people...There are beaches and some hills there. If you want to know more of L.A. area, you must have a car.

The location is not your fault but is not helped by LAs poor public transport,I liked the free internet but not the breakfast choices

very nice place. the guy in charge (antonio?) was great and helpful. despite southbay being a little out of the way I'd still recommend people check it out. If i had more time on my trip I'd have like to have stayed there a few more days - travellers probably need a car as well...

This was my very first hostel stay, at age 59:) It was so good I will rate all the future stays, at other hostels, according to this one.

Great Kitchen, friendly staff. Whether the location is good depends on your needs. It's like 45 minutes to anywhere interesting but it is calm and the nearby coast is nice.
