Has large rooms, but try to get a room on the lower floors otherwise you will walk endless stairs. The pasta evening was particularly nice. When I checked in, the front desk person was not very friendly. Then when I went up to the room, the bunk I had been assigned was unmade and had a dirty towel on it. The front desk person changed me to a different bunk that had been made. Fantastic breakfast! Bathrooms were very clean which was great. Wifi was a little sketchy at times but still good for a free service. Jeff's monument tour was excellent! A brilliant hostel. Very clean, fairly modern shower facilities, decent breakfast, comfortable and well-sized rooms. Events and tours run by the volunteer Mark were a really good way of meeting people. Would recommend to anyone going to Washington, and would definately stay here again if I come back to DC! I liked the fact that the bedrooms were sectioned off. I've been at two other hostels where the bunks were in a large open room. The sectioned room allowed for more privacy and an easier time in sectioning off the use of overhead lights. The staff was very helpful when I thought that I may have lost my cell phone while there. THey checked the room at least twice concentrating on corners and under the bed. I also used the ourdoor bike pavillion one night and felt that it was a "safe" place.
