Ideal location for the town, 15 mins walk from main rail station, 10 mins from the West station. 5 mins from bus station. Good kitchen.

Arrived after hours but easy to get in and was left a room key, so did'nt miss out.

The hostel management overbooked and cancelled our booking which was made in June at the last minute (on 23 July), causing us to incur a huge hotel bill when we had to book into a hotel in Ostersund without prior bookings. Because we were travelling and did not have regular access to e-mail and mobile phone service we did not know the booking had been cancelled until late afternoon of our intended arrival date. Alternative arrangements made by the hostel staff were not communicated to us until very late that day, and we were left with no choice but to go to an expensive hotel (the first 3 hotels were tried were full it was after 8pm when we arrived because of a train connection error). I will never go to the Östersund/Ledkrysset hostel again because I cannot trust the hostel.

I'm so sad to read your comments Kim , because when we found out the system had overbooked, we tried to reach you the whole day, through e-mail and phone. We even spoke to the train-staff. We booked you into another hostel and left you way-descriptions on the mail as we agreed. I don't know why you after all that checked into a hotel, but I'm sorry that after all our efforts it ended up like this. /Åsa

Rude woman working the counter. Not informative, not helpful - even with basic information about the hostel. Very few toilets considering the number of beds.

The reception is closed between 8 p.m. and 7.30 a.m. At arrival (just after 9 p.m), there were about 10 people who still needed to check in - at least 2 people had to leave before 7 a.m. For train travellers from/to Mora/Gällivare (by the famous railway line trough the middle part of Sweden, high season June - August) and the late arrivals/early departures from/to Stockholm, the staff remains unvisible. The building, the hygiene and location meet the required standards.
