most of us like this hostel.but sometimes its not very clean on the floor and wash room.

Staff were particulary freindly and helpful. Espeically as my Spanish is very weak. I needed theirhelp to contact an individual from whom I was buying a used bicycle, and they arranged a meeting that worked great. I promised the folks at Barcelona Mar that I would write something very favorable at bout their help and the overal friendliness of their hostel and that should be fowarded to whatever management their is at their end. It was great to have Internet workstations, a kitchen, the ability to bring in a bottle of wine, really clean environment. tight quarters but still cozy. Location slightly iffy late at night but no real problem if one is 'heads up' These were great folks at a very convenient location in Barcelona. Definitley a plus on my 3 week bike vist to Spain. they also helped me a find a very helpful local bike mechanic. Jonathan Potkin Portland, Oregon

Most of the staff at Barcelona Mar were really friendly, although not all. The hostel kitchen was alright and came in quite handy. The rooms get really hot and stuffy at night. Fairly good location in terms of walking to all the sites, but sometimes it didn't feel very safe at night.

Though location was close to La Rambla, you go through a gauntlet of prostitutes to get there. The room for 8 persons was quite crowded and ventilation was extremely poor. Showers very dark with no place for soap or to hang clothes nearby. Breakfast had no eggs or fresh fruit, just toast with cheap jam, juice, milk and instant coffee. Rip-off at 25 Euros per night! Would NOT go back.

It was on a dodgy street, with a good possibility of pickpocketing after midnight, but a really lovely hostel - I would certainly recommend it to people travelling in groups.
