Overall a good experience but was very disappointed that there was no hot water to shower after a day on the hills. This was followed by a lack of apology from staff and no compensation for example, in terms of renumeration, future discount, complimetary breakfast, or some token gesture.

The only complaint we had was the lounge area, although very comfortable was not large enough. a fairly basic hostel but clean and comfortable.

quite dirty and noisy especially if you got the room N°9 ( like me :( ) , just above the dining room ... but the staff was good!

This was the most expensive of the Youth Hostels we stayed in, and the quad room was very small for 4 people. After we added on the price of breakfast we realised we could have stayed in a B&B in 2 double rooms for almost the same price, so overall I don't htink it was good value.

If you put in mosquito nets to the windows, the comfort would increase .

Only issue I had was the bedroom we were in was right next to the kitchen and was very, very noisy both banging from the kitchen and pipes and walls seemed quite thin so could hear easily others.

Even though I have rated the location as very good, the hostel is a good walk from Fort William. You cannot be closer to Ben Nevis though and that's what I was there for, hence the rating. The staff were knowledgable, professional and extremely helpful- they made the stay one to remember.
