I found the experience disappointing. If YHA wants to attract babyboomers- has to do better. Some staff members look edlike they were there because they have to. Maybe they just haven't been properly trained on custommer service skills. The room is expensive considering the quality of the room.

The bedrooms were not clean. We stayed there twice during our visit to New Zealand and both times my friend woke up with a red itchy rash. The kitchen was also very dirty.

For approx $10 more I could stay Formule1 on Wyndham(?) St, in a much more central location. Room has TV, Shower/ toilet, stove, microwave, fridge, radio, kitchen sink. I have no complaints about YHA accommodation, but value for money would make me stay at Formule1.

bathroom facilities need to be cleaner and kept in better repair. there are not enough showers availiable I had to wait over half an hour to use one.

Beds are very bad in room 822. Must change urgently. Not enough ventilation in bedroom.

We arrived in Auckland about 4AM and the hostel staff stashed our bags in a secure area and we had access the commoon areas to chill after a 15 hour plane flight. We played pool, watched TV, Internet and napped till check in. Just like home. Couldn't do that at some expensive stuffy hotel. Very clean, lots of space and very friendly. I'd stay again on a return trip.

Hi I had my fleece-jacket stolen in my room when I was out for about 2 hours and they where cleaning the room. Ofcourse I have to whatch my things, but it really made me sucpisous of the cleaninglady. Outhervise I had a good stay. I asked one of the staff where an adress sis and she kooked it up on the internet and gave me a completly wrong direction. Could happen to anyone I suppouse, but still it was a problem for me.
