Awful place, no breakfast, it offers absolutely nothing except a bed. No tourist info., bleak and deserted. Lousy location - 1.5 hour miserable bumper-to-bumper bus ride to center of city every day (and return at night!). There is no mention on website that this hostel is far removed from city center. It was extremely difficult to find as it is located in a remote hidden "valley" way up at extreme city limits of Palermo. The bus drived motioned to me with a wave of his hand as to where the hostel was ("back there") when he saw my confusion after I got off the bus. Walking back, I saw a rusted, hidden, very small HI Hostel sign hanging on a gate. There is no street sign, no nothing. You are just let out on a highway in the wilderness. This is a dreadful hostel and is not honestly described at all. There are much better hostels right in the center of town. Shame on you, HI.

Staff didn't seem to have much local information to help tourists. Or that they wanted to help us. The attached restaurant didn't have a menu and confused non-Italian speaking customers so we ended up spending more than we thought - not good for backpackers on a budget. Hostel was booked for its closeness to airport, however, it was not made clear how difficult it was to get to the airport - either through going back into the city (quite difficult when you have an early flight and the buses are not reliable) or by paying for a members of staffs friends who has a car. Staff did not tell us that another couple were going to the airport at the same time via 'taxi', luckily we got talking and arranged this ourselves. Customer service was not great at this hostel.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. It was an excellent place to stay, peaceful, near the cost and with wonderful sights and clear water. The restaurant was not expensive but not great either. It is far from Palermo and is a little difficult to go by bus, but the town Sferracavallo is really nice. We met nice people there from Toulouse (if you read this, I hope you recover your lost luggage and enjoyed the trip anyway, and San Vito lo Capo, it was nice to met you, À bientôt)

We stayed in a very small, very aged family room, half the site was falling down with sections taped off and held up with scaffolding including part of our accommodation. A very nearby bar will keep light sleepers awake until 3am with pumping music. The accommodation security was pitiful, the room was single storey with windows and shutters which could be opened from outside and the site itself was not secure from general public access.

I liked the cats very much and I loved the beach nearby. The water is so clean! And the staff is very kind and helpful, like it should be in a hostel. Thank you for those happy days in Palermo!

The place is very beatiful. I had invied an e-mail saying I was coming, taked a taxi, and it was closed! The airplane lefted Rome in ritard, and this 15 minutes coasted me more 50 euros in a hotel, in front of this ostel, because no one was waiting for me. The reservation don't show this. At night there's no one in the reception, and it seems you're alone, I didn't knew if there was someone in the ostel too,and it caused me panic!!!! The day I gone i forgot things in the room, I returned and there was no one, the reception was closed and no one helped me. No one told me i had to pay the breakfast, when I arrived. No one cleaned the room in 3 days! That's all, I was very nervous the night i camed, 40 euro in taxi, no one waiting for me, 50 euro in hotel... no information, no one in the reception...

Baia del Corallo is a beautiful location and the view from the hostel is magnificent. Food is great and the staff were really friendly and caring. Directions to the hostel were a little confusing and the bus driver of the 628 line didn't recognize the address. After getting off the 101, the best thing to do is to take the 628 bus right to the end of the line, and it is a two minute walk back to the hostel gate.

The location and the view outside the window is realy nice!!! The town of Sferracavallo offers a realy great Italian atmosphere at night. And delicious, simple but honest Italian food for almost no money!
