i felt the room was dirty; the pillows and blankets were unclean and stuffed in closets; the mattress cover looked dirty too; i was upset about the person who shared the room - she appeared to be "living" at this hostel rather than using it as a traveler.

Hostel response:
sometimes it happens by finding a roommate messy feel uncomfortable, which then translates into little feeling of cleanliness. regarding mattress cover very often people support his suitcase on the bed free dirty and not always easy for us to intervene. could come to the reception we would have solved the problem by changing room. if we are to find another time we"ll forgive. thanks

The breakfast is included but not worth mentioning. You can get a nice coffee, that's pretty much it. It's clean and the staff is friendly.

The worse thing about this place is all the rules it has: a curfew at 11pm and you aren't allowed to drink/eat in your room -kitchen is closed too; so basically, you are left to do nothing at night and can't enjoy a nightlife.. everybody is in bed by like 11 with nothing to do. You are also locked out of the place from 10am-3pm for whatever reason, so you need to have everything figured out and with you before you leave for the day. Breakfast is a joke with stale bread and jams. They only allow you to cancel well in advance - even we tried to cancel more than 24 hours in advance and they guy said no, and he couldnt do anything about it. The place is located at the end of the main strip but Vicenza is pretty small so that doesn't matter too much. Basically this place wasn't worth the money we spent. Spend a few extra to find a place that at least lets you stay out past midnight! I would write more but there is a limit

reading this email I thought you had the wrong hostel. then I checked and she was really on us. All our guests have the keys to the main door to get back in the evening after closing time. Close access to the rooms in the morning from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm for cleaning. The breakfast is self service with fresh bread, butter, two or three kinds of jam, and hot drinks including hot chocolate, tea, coffee, cappuccino ..... and is free. Having booked with hihostel should know that the clauses providing for cancellation cancellation within a maximum of 24 hours before arrival. I"m sorry that you were getting bad but if we will come back to see that his concerns were too exaggerated.

Wonderful place to stay in a wonderful city! Very helpful & friendly staff. Great location. Tidy and clean. And I could live with 9.30AM-3.30PM lock out. Enjoyed my 5-day stay there very much and sure will come again! Ciao Olimpico!
