I was very turned off to see garbage heaped next to the garage low on the hill as if it had been there for some time, and while the female who checked us in was very pleasant, the men that seemed to be part of the hostel staff were standoffish and intimidating. I hate to say it, but if I'd been a female traveling alone I would not have been comfortable here. I cannot say that there was any specific reason that I could point out, it is just an impression. But as one of the chief benefits of hostelling is inexpensive but safe lodgings, I do think this impression is something I should share. On the flip side, as a remote hostel in a wilderness setting, it was lovely, tucked at the base of the mountain, overlooking the lake, with sheep wandering through the yard. I could've spent days relaxing here under different circumstances.

We didn't like it that we couldn't stay in our hostel between 10u00 en 17u00. For so far we knwon, is that not usual in a hostel. All the other things were very good !
